Medochemie is leading the green transition by harnessing renewable energy sources

Medochemie, the largest pharmaceutical company in Cyprus, continues to lead in minimizing environmental impacts, contributing decisively to the green transition and sustainable development.
With a steady orientation and consistency in activities and innovations concerning green energy, and using new technologies as a vehicle, Medochemie now utilizes Renewable Energy Sources (R.E.S.) for the company’s energy needs.
Specifically, following recent agreements with electricity providers from Photovoltaic Parks, Medochemie will consume around 12,770,000 kWh of green energy annually, thus contributing to environmental protection and the reduction of negative effects on human health, as well as minimizing the impacts of climate change.
With the consumption of energy at its facilities, produced from Photovoltaic Parks and not from Conventional Power Plants, Medochemie predicts that CO₂ greenhouse gas emissions into the environment will be reduced by 8,645,290 kg.
The transition to green energy reflects Medochemie’s continuous commitment to creating environmental awareness and applying environmentally sound business practices, aiming to improve the quality of citizens’ lives. It is worth noting that the company has been implementing extensive programs for waste reduction, recycling, and reuse for many years, and carries out a series of projects in its industrial facilities to improve energy efficiency, thus contributing to the creation of a healthy environment.
